Arsenal agree £55.7m club-record Gabriel Martinelli sale to Al Hilal with deal also agreed in principle with Barcelona for Gabriel Jesus

Arsenal have agreed a club-record £55.7m fee with Al Hilal to sell Gabriel Martinelli, with a deal also agreed in principle for fellow Brazilian Gabriel Jesus to depart for Barcelona.

Martinelli has now been granted permission to have a medical with the Saudi Pro League club and is set to become the biggest sale in Arsenal's history.

His move to Al Hilal will surpass the £40m Arsenal received from Liverpool for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer of 2017.

Martinelli's compatriot Gabriel Jesus is also set to leave after Arsenal agreed an £8.6m deal in principle with Barcelona.

All sides are now working on the details of the transfer and it is progressing towards a conclusion.

Plans are therefore being made for the Brazil striker to travel to Spain, which could be as soon as Monday.

Jesus had also been linked with a move to Serie A side Napoli.
