Chris Eubank Jr could return to boxing at super-middleweight with routes to a world title challenge available to him.
Eubank Jr has had a long professional career, packed with high-profile fights, but although he has held the lightly regarded IBO strap, he has never won a world championship.
Most recently Eubank headlined at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium when he fought Conor Benn twice at middleweight, with a fight-day rehydration clause. He won the first bout and lost the second.
Widely viewed as being weight drained, Eubank Jr has said he had "issues" he needs to recover from.
He could return to boxing at super-middleweight and there will be paths towards a world title fight open to him at 168lbs.
Terence Crawford beat Canelo Alvarez to become the undisputed super-middleweight world champion. Crawford has retired now and new champions will take up those 168lb belts.
The WBC has elevated Christian Mbilli to become their super-middleweight world champion. With Alvarez ranked No 1, the Mexican superstar could be on course to fight Mbilli.
Eubank Jr could also get in the reckoning for an eventual fight with Mbilli or Alvarez for the WBC title.
